OXFORD – Gloria L. (deVillers) Antkowiak, 94, of Federal Hill Road, died peacefully on Thursday, May 4, 2023, in her home. She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Henry E. Antkowiak who died in 2007. She is survived by four children, Joseph H. Antkowiak and his wife Norma of Oxford, Bernard M. Antkowiak and his wife Donna of Sutton, Marie L. Antkowiak and her husband David Steelman of Oxford, and John S. Antkowiak and his wife Passtha'ree Namungrak of Oxford; six grandchildren, Nicole Antkowiak, Katianna Antkowiak, Natasha Antkowiak, Tristan LaLiberte, Nicholas Antkowiak, and Karina LeBlanc; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased a brother, Robert deVillers; and two sisters, Annette Davis and Lucille Pope. She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Ernest A. and Alphonsine M. (Gadoury) deVillers, and was a lifelong resident of Oxford. She graduated from Oxford High School in 1947, and received a nursing certificate from St. Vincent School of Nursing.
Mrs. Antkowiak worked as a registered nurse in her younger years, then stayed home to raise her family and care for her home. She was a member of St. Roch’s Church in Oxford and attended the Wednesday morning Bible Study. She enjoyed playing her piano, gardening and skiing.
A funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, from Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Roch’s Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at St. Roch’s Cemetery in Oxford. Calling hours are Tuesday, May 9, 2023, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
