WEBSTER – Gloria M. (D’Andrea) Vrabel, 97, died Monday, February 16, 2026, at Matulaitis Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center in Putnam, CT.
She was predeceased by her husband of 51 years and the love of her life, Martin J. Vrabel who died in 2001. She is survived by three children, Richard M. Vrabel and his wife Mary of Pittsgrove, NJ, Ellen E. Prestes and her husband Robert of North Grosvenordale, CT, and Martin F. Vrabel of Oakland, CA; five grandchildren, Timothy, Anna, and Matthew Vrabel, Daniel and Andrea Prestes; four great-grandchildren, Eleanor, Colton, Owen, and Summer; and many nieces and nephews, including Paul Vrabel, Lisa Bouchard, and David D’Andrea. She was predeceased by three brothers, Ralph D’Andrea, Joseph D’Andrea, and Frank D’Andrea.
She was born in Webster, daughter of the late Frank and Elizabeth (Bastolla) D’Andrea, and lived most of her life in Webster before moving to North Grosvenordale in 2008. She graduated from Bartlett High School in Webster in 1946.
Mrs. Vrabel worked at Guaranty Bank in Worcester for five years, retiring in 1985. After high school, she worked at First National Bank in Webster for 8 years. Mrs. Vrabel spent most of her life caring for her home and family.
She was a member of St. Louis Church in Webster and a member of the Sons of Italy since her youth. She enjoyed baking and reading, and had a passion for nutrition. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially with her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Our family wishes to express sincere gratitude to the staff at Matulaitis Nursing Home for their exceptional care, kindness and compassion.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at St. Louis Church, 15 Lake St., Webster. Burial will be private at a later date at St. Athony’s Cemetery in Webster. Calling hours will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
