Bolton

BOLTON – It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Grace-Louise Hebert, a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. Grace passed away peacefully on April 15, 2023, surrounded by her family, after a long illness. She was 73 years old.

Grace was born on November 23, 1949, to Joseph and Jean Walsh in Worcester, Massachusetts. Her family moved to Oxford, Massachusetts, where she spent most of her childhood. After graduating from Oxford High School in 1967, she began her career in banking at Guarantee Bank. However, she soon discovered her true passion for healthcare and obtained licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse, where she dedicated herself to caring for patients with psychiatric and addiction illnesses.

Grace met her soulmate, Richard N. Hebert, in 1967, and they married in February 1968. They went on to have two children, Richard Michael, and Kelly Jean. Grace spent many years in healthcare before becoming an integral member of her family’s business, Hebert Candies. After the sale of their family business, Grace and Richard embarked on creating their own highly successful candy company, Colonial Candies in Bolton, Massachusetts.

Grace had many passions in life. Her greatest passion was spending time with her family and friends. She loved to travel and was always planning her next adventure. Grace was also a talented quilter, knitter, and crocheter, creating beautiful works of art that will be treasured by her loved ones forever. She was an active member of her community and served as president of the “Friends of the Northborough Public Library,” leading several charity events. Grace was also an active member of “Old Sturbridge Village” where she loved to visit.

Grace was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Jean, and her sister, Karen. She is survived by her loving husband, Richard, children, Richard and his husband William Downey, and Kelly and her husband Greg Sallhofen, sister, Kim and her fiancé William Saad, grandchildren, Madelyn and Joslyn, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. Grace will be remembered for her kindness, her generosity, and her unwavering love for her family. She touched the lives of so many people and will be deeply missed.

A celebration of Grace's life will be held privately at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home located in Oxford, Massachusetts.  In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the American Kidney Fund in Grace’s memory.
