OXFORD – Harriet E. (Holmes) Brunnett, 89, died Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at Webster Manor Nursing Home in Webster. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard F. Brunnett who died in 2000. She is survived by six children, Brian W. Brunnett and his wife Cathy of Monroe, NY, David L. Brunnett of Worcester, Quentin B. Brunnett of Oxford, Ladon R. Burke of North Grosvenordale, Lisa J. Leduc and her husband Timothy of Cherry Valley, and Stacie L. Brunnett of North Grosvenordale; her sister, Annie K. “Kitty” Ostrout of East Brookfield; 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four children, George W. Brunnett, Charles D. Brunnett, Bruce R. Brunnett, and Pauline A. Miller; and two brothers, George W. Holmes Jr. and Leon R. Holmes. She was born in Upton, daughter of the late George W. and Ruth (Foss) Holmes Sr., and lived in Middlefield and Rochdale before moving to Oxford in 1950.
Mrs. Brunnett was a member of the Oxford United Methodist Church in Oxford. She loved riding and caring for horses, playing bingo, and collecting dolls and model antique cars. She was a foster parent for many years and loved children more than anything. She babysat for many in her family throughout the years and cherished time with her grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 4, 2023, at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at North Cemetery in Oxford. Calling hours are Thursday, August 3, 2023, from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Oxford United Methodist Church, 465 Main St., Oxford, MA 01540.
