Henry Antkowiak

OXFORD – Henry E. Antkowiak, 78, of Federal Hill Road, died Tuesday, December 11, 2007, at St, Vincent Hospital in Worcester. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Gloria L. (deVillers) Antkowiak; four children, Joseph H. Antkowiak and his wife Norma of Oxford, Bernard M. Antkowiak and his wife Donna LeBlanc of Sutton, Marie L. Antkowiak and her husband David Steelman of Westerly, RI, and John S. Antkowiak and his wife Jennifer of Oxford; two sisters, Jane Kwiatkowski, of Worcester and Adeline Bek of Douglas; six grandchildren, Nicole, Katianna, Natasha, Tristan, Nicholas, and Karina; and many nephews and nieces. He was born in Oxford, the son of the late Jozef and Valeryia (Taflinska) Antkowiak, and was a lifelong resident of Oxford. He graduated from Oxford High School in Oxford in 1947 and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Central New England College of Technology in Worcester. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Antkowiak was a project manager at the U.S. Army R.D. & E. Center in Natick for 36 years, retiring in 1994. He was a member and usher at St. Roch's Church in Oxford and a member of the Cemetery Committee for St. Roch's Cemetery. Throughout his life he was a dairy farmer on Federal Hill Road. A funeral will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, December 15, 2007, from Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Roch's Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Military burial will follow at St. Roch's Cemetery, Oxford, with the Oxford Memorial Honor Guard participating. Calling hours are Friday, December 14, 2007, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
