OXFORD - Irene M. (Poirier) Elbag, 85, of Walnut Street, died Saturday, December 28, 2013, at Webster Manor Nursing Home in Webster. She was predeceased by her husband of 36 years, Herbert A. Elbag of Oxford who died in 1984. She is survived by four children, Darlene A. McCourt of Webster, Janice P. Dumouchel and her husband Richard of Dudley, Donald A. Elbag of Oxford, and Sharon A. Mantelli and her husband Dean of Thompson, CT; a brother, Gerard Poirier of New Hampshire; ten grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, three step-great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter, and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by two brothers, Albert Poirier Jr. and Robert Poirier. She was born in Rumford, ME, the daughter of the late Albert and Noella (Roy) Poirier, and lived in Worcester before moving to Oxford 1955. Mrs. Elbag worked at Anglo Fabrics in Webster for 30 years, retiring in 1991. She was a former member of St. Roch's Church in Oxford. She enjoyed going to the Webster Senior Center, and loved playing pitch and bingo. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 4, 2014, at St. Roch's Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at St. Roch's Cemetery, Oxford. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701. Paradis Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
