OXFORD – Irene J. (Barry) Grigas, 93, of Marshall Street, died Friday, May 10, 2024, at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester.  She was predeceased by her husband, Charles Grigas of Oxford who died in 2003.  She is survived by five children, Daniel C. Grigas and his wife Tara of Plymouth, Pauline A. Sheehan of Westborough, Gail Swett of Worcester, and twins Laurie Grigas of Uxbridge, and Linda Grigas of Webster; seven grandchildren, Brian Grigas and his wife Megan, Taryn Lang and her husband Bryan, Caitlyn Pearson and her husband Andy, Chelsea Guarino and her husband Evan, Nicole Grigas and her fiancé Pat, Timothy Lorenz, and Breeze Grigas; four great-grandchildren, Kaleigh, Ben, Dylan, and Nolan; her sister, Joan Russell and her husband Kenneth of Attleboro; and many nieces and nephews.  She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late John W. and Antoinette (Yuarvich) Barry, and lived in Oxford since 1972.

Irene graduated from Ascension High School in 1948 and had various occupations, including at Worcester State University as a secretary, retiring in 1993.  She also worked for the town of Oxford as a clerk for the Conservation and Recreation board, and as a volunteer at the Oxford Public Library.  Her hobbies included scrapbooking, Post-crossing, reading, line dancing, and traveling.  She spent time socializing at the Oxford Senior Center and loved spending time with her family and friends.

A private graveside service will be held at North Cemetery in Oxford.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Oxford Senior Center, 323 Main St., Oxford, MA 01540.

Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
