Jacqueline Woodford

SOUTHBRIDGE - Jacqueline H. (Carpenter) Woodford, 71, of Worcester St., died Friday, November 14, 2008, at Kindred Parkview Specialty Hospital in Leicester, after a long illness. She is survived by two sons, David A. Woodford and his wife Kim of Leominster, and Alan W. Woodford and his wife Theresa of Dudley; four grandchildren, Sydney Woodford, Aaron Woodford, Matthew Bond, and Justin Bond; and several nephews and nieces. She was born in New Haven, CT, the daughter of the late Arnold and Mildred (Lusky) Carpenter, and lived in Hopedale before moving to Southbridge nine years ago. She graduated from Seymour High School in Seymour, CT, in 1955, attended Meriden Hospital School of Nursing in Meriden, CT, and later received a certificate from Northeast Regional Vocational Technical School. Ms. Woodford was a medical assistant in the Department of Surgery at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester for 20 years, retiring in 1998. She was a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Rachel Chapter NO. 61 in North Grafton, enjoyed music, reading and crafts, and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, November 19, 2008, at Waldron Cemetery, Ramshorn Road, Dudley. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice. Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, is in care of the arrangements.
