Jacquelyn Young

December 11, 1940 — March 5, 2018

CHARLTON – Jacquelyn D. (Daley) Young, 77, died Monday, March 5, 2018, at the Life Care Center of Auburn. She was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Robert C. Young who died in 2015. She is survived by three children, Betsy A. Gaucher and her husband Charles of Pawtucket, RI, Mark D. Young and his wife Karen of Bath, ME, and Susan E. Desy and her husband Steve of Brimfield; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Young, Sarah Young, Louis Desy, and Joseph Desy. She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Barbara S. (Perry) Daley, and lived in Charlton for the past 12 years. She graduated from Oxford High School in 1958, and received her bachelor’s degree in education from Worcester State College in 1977.

Mrs. Young was a customer service representative at New England Telephone for over 20 years, retiring in 1998. She enjoyed painting, quilting, and was a Patriots and Red Sox fan.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Life Care Center of Auburn, for the exceptional care given to Jacquelyn over the past two years.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 10, 2018, at Grace Episcopal Church, 270 Main St., Oxford. Burial will be private at a later date at Gore Cemetery in North Oxford. Calling hours are Friday, March 9, 2018, from 4-7 p.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Memorial contributions may be made to Old Sturbridge Village, 1 Old Sturbridge Village Rd., Sturbridge, MA 01566.
