OXFORD, MA / CLIFFSIDE PARK, NJ – James S. Budd, 51, of Bailey Road, died Monday, November 18, 2019, at St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester after a long illness. He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Susan P. Vogel of Oxford, MA; his son, Sammy A. Budd of Oxford, MA; his mother, Carlotta M. Budd of Dover, NH; his father, George A. Budd of Ashburn, VA; two brothers, Robert (Julie) Budd of Exeter, NH, and Charles (Grace) Budd of Boston, MA; his aunt, Judy Miller of Deer Isle, ME; nieces, Brenna and Tallulah, and nephew, Cyrus and many cousins. He was born in Orange, NJ, and lived in Madison and Cliffside Park before moving to Oxford in 2015. He received his bachelor’s degree, Cum Laude, and master’s degree in accounting from William Patterson University in New Jersey.
Mr. Budd worked at ShopRite in New Jersey for many years. He was an avid bowler and belonged to several bowling leagues throughout his life. He was a fan of the New York Mets and the Buffalo Bills, where he was a member of the Bill’s Mafia and enjoyed attending Red Pinto Tailgate Parties. His passion in life was his son, Sammy, including coaching Challenger baseball games.
A funeral service will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, November 30, 2019, at Grace Episcopal Church, 4 Madison Avenue, Madison, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the National Down Syndrome Society, 8 E. 41st St., 8th Floor, New York, NY 10017. Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford, MA is directing the arrangements.
