SOUTHBRIDGE – James E. Lewandowski, 63, of Dennison Drive, died Monday, February 23, 2026, at Lanessa Extended Care in Webster.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Melissa E. (Anderson) Lewandowski of Woodstock, CT; two children, Faith L. Amaro and her former husband Anthony of Webster, and Jordan J. Lewandowski and his wife Gabriella of Webster; three sisters, Sandra Wallen of Thompson, CT, Jane Dean of Framingham, and Judith Leighton of Oxford; three brothers, Stephen Lewandowski of Arizona, Jonathan Lewandowski of Winchendon, and Joel Lewandowski of Natick; five grandchildren, Noah Vaughan, Isabella Lewandowski, Ronin Lewandowski, Isaias Amaro, and Ezekiel Amaro; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was born in Worcester, son of the late Thaddeus and Sylvia (Lovett) Lewandowski, and lived in Springfield, VA, Cape Cod, and Webster, before moving to Woodstock two years ago. He graduated from Oxford High School in 1980.
Mr. Lewandowski was an entrepreneur throughout his life and was always working on creating businesses with new ideas. He delivered furniture, delivered fuel oil, worked in hazardous waste cleanup, and ordinance disposal. Carpet installation was by far his favorite job, in which he owned two companies and took great pride in teaching his son. He considered carpeting the Costa Rican Embassy in Washington, DC, one of his greatest accomplishments.
He also loved World War II history, tinkering with muscle cars, watching Top Gear, Ice Road Truckers, Deadliest Catch, and the Three Stooges. He was a jack of all trades and could fix anything. He was a drummer when he attended Oxford Middle School, and recorded an album with the school band.
Mr. Lewandowski was a member of Sunergo Christian Fellowship in Fontana, CA, and served as an usher for many years at Community of Faith Tabernacle in Springfield, VA.
