DUDLEY – James J. Maisto, 73, of Charlton Road, died Monday, December 7, 2020, at Harrington Memorial Hospital in Southbridge. He is survived by his daughter, Deanna Maisto of Oxford, FL; two stepdaughters, Carrie B. Verdone and Amy M. Verdone, both of Webster; eight grandchildren, Amanda, Angelina, Nicholas, Zachary, Kristen, Caitlin, Nina, and Kasyn; and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister Sharon Dubuc. He was born in Webster, son of the late Joseph J. and Victoria H. (Kudzal) Maisto, and lived most of his life in Dudley.
Mr. Maisto was a cosmetology teacher and golf coach at Pathfinder Regional Vocational Technical High School in Palmer for many years prior to retirement. Previously, he owned and operated Red Carpet Beauty Salon in Webster.
Jim had a love of music. He was a disc jockey for many years, and was a guitarist and singer for several bands. He enjoyed singing, cooking, and spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by his many friends.
A funeral will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2020, from Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Andrew Bobola Church, 54 West Main St., Dudley. Burial will be private at a later date at St. Joseph’s Garden of Peace in Webster. Calling hours are Wednesday, December 9, 2020, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. A celebration of Jim’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
