ATHOL – James V. Stoltz, 80, of Templeton Road, died peacefully on Monday, December 22, 2025, at UMass Memorial Medical Center – Memorial Campus in Worcester.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Paula I. (Ahlbom) Stoltz of Athol. He was predeceased by his brother, Mervin Stoltz who died in 1975.
He was born in Enright, Arkansas, son of the late Albert P. and Cleo E. (Waldrop) Stoltz, and lived in the South for 30 years before moving to Athol eight years ago. He graduated from high school in Arkansas.
Mr. Stoltz was a minister in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, serving in many locations throughout his life including Massachusetts, Florida, Arkansas, and North Carolina. In addition, he owned and operated J&P Pioneer Cleaning in Athol with his wife for many years.
He enjoyed traveling, especially to Cape Cod and Harkers Island, NC. He was a collector of decoy ducks and enjoyed antiquing, fishing, and hiking. He could often be found eating his favorite foods, Hershey’s, Mentos, and Coca Cola.
No services are planned at this time. Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
