RUTLAND – Janice I. (Nordstrom) Scott, 82, of Main Street, died Saturday, March 2, 2024, at UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus in Worcester.  She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Robert G. “Scooter” Scott of Rutland; her son, Shaun M. Scott and his wife Tammy of Sutton; her granddaughter, Hannah R. Scott of Rangely, ME; her step grandson, Tyler Rhodes of Sutton; and two nephews, Raymond Gonyea of Southbridge, and Dale Gonyea and his spouse Adam Stanhope of Sturbridge.  She was predeceased by a sister, Winifred Gonyea; and three brothers, Raymond Nordstrom, Paul Nordstrom, and Alan Nordstrom.  She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Gustav and Isabel (Duvall) Nordstrom, and lived in Worcester before moving to Rutland 57 years ago.  She graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester and attended Assumption College in Worcester.

Mrs. Scott was a secretary at the Worcester Telegram and Gazette many years ago.  She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Holden, and a former member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Worcester.  She enjoyed skiing in her younger years, and baked traditional Swedish deserts for her family and friends.  She was a tremendous artist who enjoyed crafts and created beautiful paintings.

Memorial calling hours are Tuesday, March 12, 2024, from 6-8 p.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford.
