Jean Lougie

OXFORD – Jean E. (Carlson) Lougie, 66, of Larned Road, died Tuesday, April 5, 2022, in her home.  She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Paul J. Lougie of Oxford; three children, Jeffrey P. Lougie of Oxford, Jennifer A. Pfeffer and her husband Christopher of Riverside, RI, and Christine J. Lougie and her fiancé Miguel of Oxford; six grandchildren, Nathan Lougie, Emma Pfeffer, Ashley Lougie, Johnathan Pfeffer, Claire Wambugu, and Benjamin Wambugu; four sisters, Karen Pheil of Charlton, Deborah Madden of Aurora, CO, Cynthia Rich of Charlton, and Wendy Ryan of Houlton, ME; a brother, Everett Carlson of Charlton; and many nephews, nieces, and cousins, including her cousin Lisa Beauregard of Westboro.  She was predeceased by a son, Peter J. Lougie who died in 2020.  She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Everett A. and Vera V. (Anderson) Carlson, and lived in Charlton before moving to Oxford 41 years ago.  She graduated from Shepherd Hill Regional High School in Dudley.

Mrs. Lougie lovingly raised her four children, and was known as Momma to many more.  She enjoyed reading, cooking, watching hummingbirds, and gardening.  Her life was centered around her family.  As she said, “Let my family know . . . Momma’s watching you all,” including her additional “kids” Sunny Boy, Leah, Mark, Bruce, and Becky.

The family would like to thank Care Central VNA and Hospice in Webster, for their love and exceptional care during Jean’s illness.

Memorial calling hours are Tuesday, April 12, 2022, from 4-6 p.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main Street, Oxford.  A prayer service will be held on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. at the conclusion of calling hours.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the MGH Immunobiology Laboratory, Attn: Dr. Denise Faustman, Massachusetts General Hospital-East, Building 149, 13th St., CNY-3601, Charlestown, MA 02129, or at faustmanlab.org
