Jeffrey Baker

February 19, 1957 — January 5, 2019

SPENCER – Jeffrey P. Baker, 61, passed away Saturday, January 5, 2019, at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, after a short illness. He is survived by his Fiancée, Nancy E. Thibaud of Spencer; two children, Christopher D. Baker and his Fiancée Ashely Rutledge of Spencer, and Brianna L. Baker and her partner Chris Melanson of Worcester; a brother, Bruce Baker and his wife Gail of Hudson, FL; his former wife, Sheila M. Baker of Auburn; one nephew, many nieces, two step-children, and two step-grandchildren. He was born in Worcester, son of the late Catherine A. (Coleman) Baker and George G. Baker, grew up in Oxford and lived in Dudley most of his life before moving to Spencer two years ago.

Jeff was employed by Sjogren Industries in Worcester, formerly SP Stevens, where he worked for over 35 years. He was a dedicated worker who was admired for his strong work ethic. Jeff was a valued member and the current Lodge Esquire of the Auburn/Webster Elks. He was very proud to be an Elk, and enjoyed giving his time to the Lodge helping others. While he enjoyed watching football and was an avid Patriots fan, he loved spending his time with his family and friends most of all. Jeff will be remembered by all as a man with a heart of gold, who could always be counted on for a good laugh, a warm smile, a helping hand, and an overall love for life.

Jeff’s family would like to extend their deep appreciation to the doctors, nurses and staff that work at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and the Brigham and Women’s Neuro Intensive Care Unit. They will be forever grateful for the tireless, compassionate, and professional care he received.
