OXFORD – John J. Maryyanek, III, 67, of Dudley Road, died unexpectedly on Monday, June 13, 2022, at Harrington HealthCare at Hubbard Hospital in Webster. He is survived by two daughters, Debra L. Maryyanek and her husband Jeremy Shaffer of Stafford Springs, CT, and Katie L. Dickson of Southbridge; three brothers, Edward F. Maryyanek and his companion Dawn Alarie of Oxford, James Moss of Worcester, and Clinton R. Moss of Illinois; a sister, Holly J. Carpenter and her companion Joseph Parry of Oxford; a grandson, Alexander Dickson of Southbridge; and many nephews and nieces, including a special nephew, Coty Carpenter of Oxford. He was preceded by two brothers, Donald P. Maryyanek who died in 2018, and Clayton Moss who died in 2017. He was born in Webster, son of the late John J. Maryyanek and Dorothy E. (Gomes) Moss, and lived in Oxford for the past 6 years. He graduated from Bartlett High School in Webster in 1972, and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
Mr. Maryyanek worked at Allied Machined Products in Auburn for 10 years. Previously, he worked at Wyman-Gordon Corporation and Coppus Engineering. He loved to play pitch and played in the Thursday Night Pitch League at Days End in Oxford. He was an avid fisherman and cherished his time fishing with his nephew. John enjoyed riding his motorcycle, family gatherings, playing cards, and was a fan of all the Boston sports teams. He had a special love for his dog, Jax.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
