Joseph Dickson

HOLDEN – Joseph F. Dickson, 70, of Nichols Street, died Wednesday, November 7, 2007, in his home. He is survived by five children, Cheryl A. Seymour of Worcester, Stephen J. Dickson of North Grosvenordale, CT, Linda J. Dickson of Oxford; Daniel F. Dickson of North Grosvenordale, CT, and Melissa A. Martin of Southbridge; a brother, Charles Dickson of Dudley; a sister, Carolyn Collins of Maine; eleven grandchildren and four nephews. He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Amanda P. Martin of Southbridge, who died in 2007; and his former spouse, Marsha R. (Spooner) Callahan of Dudley, who died in 2000. He was born in Worcester, the son of the late Leander J. and Anna (Rebokis) Dickson, and lived in Oxford, Rutland, and West Boylston, before moving to the Jefferson section of Holden in 1984. He graduated from Oxford High School in Oxford. Mr. Dickson was vice president of technology at Reed-Rico in Holden, where he was worked for 37 years before retiring in 1995. He was an avid trapshooter, hunter and fisherman. A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, November 10, 2007, from Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Roch's Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at St. Roch's Cemetery, Oxford. Calling hours are Friday, November 9, 2007, from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
