Joseph Latour

OXFORD – Joseph P. “Joey” Latour, 72, of Forest Street, died Monday, February 6, 2023, in his home surrounded by his loved ones.  He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Martine G. (Delhotellerie) Latour of Oxford; two daughters, Tiffany L. Daly-LaRose and her husband, Michael of Oxford, and Leslie J. Latour Cierpich of Dudley; four sisters, Jean Wrona and her husband Jeff, Christine Agin and her husband Dennis, Charolett Garceau, and Mary Williams and her husband Michael; four grandchildren, Ariel, Felicia, Jordan, and Buddy Cierpich; several nephews and nieces; and many loved ones whom he held dear, especially The Wilson Family (Patrick, Marjorie, Terence and his wife, Ana Flavia, and Aidan), Eric Quitadamo, Jesse Hadley and wife Jillian.  He was predeceased by two brothers, Edgar Latour and Daniel Latour; and a sister, Susan Phelps.  He was born in Worcester, son of the late Edgar and Florence (Valois) Latour and lived in Oxford before moving to Belgium for 4 years, then moving back to Oxford in 1977.  He graduated from Oxford High School in 1968.

Mr. Latour was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. While serving in Belgium, he met his wife Martine and they were married within four months.

Mr. Latour was an Industrial X-Ray Technician for the Mistras Group in Auburn for 36 years, retiring in 2013.  He was proud of his military service and enjoyed attending veterans’ luncheons in Oxford.  Joey enjoyed traveling with his wife and family to Belgium, France, and Cape Cod, and spending his Birthday and Father’s Day playing the penny slot machines at Mohegan Sun. Joey’s favorite memories were spending time with friends and family enjoying a house full of laughter and Chinese Food.

A memorial Mass will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3 Speen St., Suite 250, Framingham, MA 01701.  Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
