Charlton - Joseph S. Pikul Jr., 85, of Charlton died on Thursday, October 27, 2011, in the Umass Memorial Medical Center - University Campus after an illness. Mr. Pikul is survived by his wife of 64 years June (White) Pikul; a son David J. Pikul of Charlton; a daughter Susan L. LeBlanc of Oxford; a sister Wanda Antos of Dudley; a granddaughter Emmy Monticelli of Oxford; a great grandson Matthew Joseph Monticelli of Oxford and many nieces and nephews. He was born in Webster and is the son of the late Joseph and Anna (Rusieki) Pikul. Joseph served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. Mr. Pikul was the owner and operator of Charlton Furniture for many years until his retirement. Upon, retirement Joe would still spend many days at the store enjoying the family business. He enjoyed being outdoors working in his yard and with his John Deere tractors. Joe enjoyed following the Boston area professional sports teams. A private graveside service for Mr. Pikul will be held in Westridge Cemetery, Charlton. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Charlton Fire Department, PO Box 114, Charlton, MA 01507. Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main Street, Oxford, is assisting the family with arrangements.
