DUDLEY – Joyce A. (Leduc) Chausse, 73, passed away on Friday, June 21, 2024, at UMass Memorial Medical Center - University Campus in Worcester, surrounded by her children.

She will be greatly missed by her son, Eric Chausse Sr. and his wife JoAnn of North Grosvenordale CT; her daughter, Laurie Chausse of Fiskdale; her granddaughter, Vanessa (Julian) Drake and her husband Dillon of Sturbridge, her grandson, Eric “EJ” Chausse Jr. and his partner Stephanie of Pomfret, CT; and her grandson, Ty Chausse of North Grosvenordale CT. Joyce will also be missed by her siblings, Nancy Vandal of Woodstock, CT, Sheila Giroux and her husband Charlie of Southbridge, Janet Giroux and her husband Raymond of Sturbridge, Kenneth Leduc of Middleboro, and Barry Leduc and his wife Linda of Southbridge. She is predeceased by her loving husband of 43 years, Arthur “Butch” Chausse; her son, Jamie Chausse; her brothers, Bruce Leduc, David Leduc, Dennis Leduc, and Michael Leduc; and her brother-in-law, Conrad Vandal.

Joyce was born in Southbridge, the daughter of Harry and Jeannette (Bourassa) Leduc. Joyce is best known for her love and caring of others. Joyce spent most of her career at Hubbard Hospital as a housekeeper. Upon retiring, Joyce worked as a school bus monitor for Southern Worcester County Collaborative. Joyce’s favorite activity was spending time with her family. She avidly kept up on soap operas and televised game shows. Joyce was known for having “an itchy left hand” and participated in the Massachusetts State Lottery on a regular basis. 

Joyce’s family would like to thank the staff at UMass University campus for their compassion and exemplary care.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 12, 2024, at Calvary Cemetery in Dudley. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Center at UMass Memorial Health – Harrington, 55 Sayles St., Southbridge, MA 01550.

Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
