DUDLEY – Kelly A. (Martin) Johnson, 42, of Dudley, died Sunday, November 24, 2024, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, surrounded by her family, from complications of Cystic Fibrosis, which she fought hard with throughout her life.
She is survived by her partner, Leanne T. Forbes and their daughter Alyssa R. Forbes of Dudley; her mother, Gale A. (Bergen) Martin of Dudley; her sister, Stacey L. Sitko of Dudley; and her niece and nephew, Jocelyn Sitko and Jaxon Sitko, both of Dudley.
She was born in Concord, daughter of the late Richard “Rick” N. Martin, and lived most of her life in Dudley. She graduated from Bay Path R.V.T. High School in Charlton in 2000, and received a certificate from Quinsigamond Community College in Worcester in Paramedicine.
Kelly was a paramedic for Webster E.M.S. in Webster for eight years. She was involved in raising money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and helping people with CF. After her double-lung transplant in 2015, she rode her bike 12 miles in the Cystic Fibrosis Cycle for Life.
Kelly loved dogs, especially her Labs. She enjoyed riding in her Jeep, snow skiing, and water skiing. Despite the difficulties of her condition, she remained very active throughout her life and lived life to the fullest. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
A funeral service including remembrances by family and friends will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Those attending are invited to gather between 9:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Waldron Cemetery in Dudley. Calling hours are Monday, December 2, 2024, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family requests that everyone wear jeans and hoodies to services, the way Kelly always dressed.
