OXFORD – Kelly A. O’Brien-Hartnett, 57, of Church Street, died peacefully on Sunday, April 5, 2026, in her home surrounded by her loving family.
Kelly is survived by her husband, Daniel P. Hartnett of Oxford; two brothers, Thomas R. O’Brien of Oxford, and Michael J. O’Brien and his wife Carol E. O’Brien, and their two children, Brennan M. O’Brien and Kiera E. O’Brien of Thompson, CT; her aunt, Susan A. McCrohon of Holden and her cousins, Caryn, Timothy and William; her mother-in-law, Patricia A. Hartnett of Auburn; two brothers-in-law, Kevin E. Hartnett and his wife Kelly of Rutland and their three children Keara, Deidre and Daniel, and Francis X. Hartnett of Auburn and his son Shawn and granddaughter Angelina; three sisters-in-law, Susan M. Hartnett of Auburn, Maureen A. Hart and her husband Stephen of Spencer and their three children Brielle, Colleen and Patrick, and Deborah A. Ericson and her husband Heath of Dayville, CT and their two children Maura and Colin; and her beloved dog, Maggie May.
Kelly was born in Worcester, daughter of the late William V. and Judith E. (Munroe) O’Brien and lived in Oxford for most of her life. She graduated from Oxford High School in 1987. She then went on to graduate from Keene State College, going on to receive her master’s degree from Lesley University.
Kelly taught for over 30 years; she began teaching Special Education at Oxford High School and later moved onto Webster teaching at the middle school. She finished her career at Bartlett High School teaching both English and Special Education. During her time at Bartlett, she was a class advisor for many years.
Kelly was an incredible hostess and loved to entertain. Some notable gatherings were ‘Book Club’, ‘Souperbowl’, football parties, and many family holidays. She and Danny loved traveling and having adventures like the Hotdog Safari and celebrating their anniversaries. She was also known for organizing ‘forced family fun’ events and so much more.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026, from 4-7 p.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, April 11, 20206, at 11 a.m. at St. Roch’s Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Burial will be private at a later date at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.
