Kent Gray

January 28, 1941 — February 10, 2008

DUDLEY – Kent A. Gray, 67, of Green Street, died Sunday, February 10, 2008, at Harrington Memorial Hospital in Southbridge, after a battle with cancer. He was predeceased by his wife of 45 years, Carol A. (Plante) Gray of Dudley, who died in 2006. He is survived by three children, Belinda Cassell and her husband Steven of Oxford, Blaine Gray of Dudley, and Sean Gray and his wife Laurie of Putnam, CT; his mother, Mildred E. (Sprague) Gray of Dudley; his sister, Rhonda M. Taylor of Dudley; four grandchildren, Shannon Gifford, Scott Cassell, Dakota Gray, and Shane Gray; four great grandchildren, Trevor Foskett, Ella Cassell, Avery Gifford, and Aaron Cassell; and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by four brothers, Martin G. Peterson, Robert S. Gray, Duane Gray, and Roy M. Gray. He was born in Boston, the son of the late Avery A. Gray, and lived in Charlton before moving to Dudley over 40 years ago. Mr. Gray worked in the maintenance department at Nichols College in Dudley for 40 years, before retiring recently due to his illness. He considered his co-workers at the college his second family. He was a member of the Charlton Methodist Church and was a past member of the Charlton Grange. He was a volunteer firefighter for the Charlton Fire Department many years ago. Mr. Gray loved camping, especially at his campsite, Sunset View in Monson. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 16, 2008, at North Cemetery, Main St., Oxford. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701. Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, is directing the arrangements.
