OXFORD – Lawrence “Larry” D. Bray, 74, of Oxford, died Friday, June 23, 2023, at UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus in Worcester. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Nancy L. (Power) Bray of Oxford; three children, Laurence D. Bray II and his wife Susan of Oxford, Tracy L. Guay and her husband Jeremy of Webster, and Matthew E. Bray of Oxford; a brother, Douglas R. Bray; three grandsons, Ryan Bray, Samuel Guay, and Jesse Clark; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Amanda R. Bray who died in 2012. He was born in Webster, son of the late Douglas H. and Esther R. (Napieralski) Bray, and lived most of his life in Oxford. He graduated from Oxford High School in 1966 and received his bachelor’s degree from the Central College of New England in Worcester.
Mr. Bray worked at Cranston Print Works in Webster for 42 years, retiring in 2009. He enjoyed spending time on Cape Cod and in Vermont, and especially loved watching sunsets at the Cape. He was a fan of all of the Boston sports teams. Most of all, he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He often attended his grandson’s sporting events, and loved to hear about their successes when he wasn’t able to attend.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 30, 2023, at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at North Cemetery in Oxford. Calling hours are Thursday, June 29, 2023, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute/The Jimmy Fund, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284.
