OXFORD – Lorna N. (Swenson) Chaput, 92, of Main Street, died Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus in Worcester. She was predeceased by her husband of 68 years, Ernest W. Chaput who died in 2019 and two sons Gary E. who died in 2022 and Mark S. who died in 2017. She is survived by five children, Nancy L. White of Oxford, David W. Chaput of California, Judith L. Tyler of Webster, Debra J. Borus of Webster, and Ernest P. She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Ernest P. and Anna E. (Nordstrom) Swenson, and lived in Worcester before moving to Oxford in 1968. She was the last surviving sibling from her family of 10.

Lorna was a realtor at Centerwood Realty in Oxford for many years prior to retirement. Previously, she was a certified welder for Smith Valve Company. She enjoyed playing Bingo, taking trips to the casino, and spending time at Webster Lake. Her favorite pastimes were preparing Sunday dinners for the family that meant everything to her. Lorna loved to sit in her yard and admire her rose bushes while the birds visited her lovely bird houses on a daily basis. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy and held a special place in her heart. Lorna was loved by all and will truly be missed by everyone.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Alzheimer's Association, 320 Nevada Street, Suite 201, Newton, MA 02460.

Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
