WEBSTER – Louise C. (Plaga) Girard, 79, of Sibley Avenue, died peacefully on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at the Life Care Center of Auburn after a short illness. She was predeceased by her husband of 29 years, Rodney P. Girard who died in 1990. She is survived by three children, Cheryl A. Mingolla and her husband David of Oxford, Mark S. Girard of Spencer, and Michael J. Girard and his wife Denise of Charlton; five grandsons and two great-granddaughters. She was predeceased by her companion, Walter Pekala who died in 2010. She was born in Webster, daughter of the late Stanley and Rita (Nadeau) Plaga, and lived in Webster and Oxford before moving back to Webster 29 years ago. She graduated from Bartlett High School in 1960.
Mrs. Girard was an office clerk at Tech Engineering in Oxford prior to retirement. She worked various office jobs for local companies throughout her life. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and the Thursday Morning Bowling League. She enjoyed playing cards, especially pitch, and was active at the Webster Senior Center for many years.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, May 6, 2022, at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at St. Roch’s Cemetery in Oxford. Calling hours are Friday from 9:00-11:30 a.m., prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
