Maria Schwarzenberg

WORCESTER – Maria (Wojcik) Schwarzenberg, 89, died peacefully on Saturday, December 5, 2015, at Worcester Rehabilitation and Health Center. She was predeceased by her husband, Antonio Schwarzenberg who died in 1969. She is survived by her daughter, Halinka Schwarzenberg of Worcester; her son-in-law, John G. Puniskis of Oxford; her sister, Adela Taraska of Poland; and two grandchildren, Michael Puniskis of London, England, and Derek Puniskis of Oxford. She was predeceased by two children, Terri Puniskis and John Schwarzenberg. She was born in Nieczjna Goran, Poland, daughter of the late Jozef and Karolina Wojcik, and lived most of her life between Poland and Worcester. She will be remembered as a wonderful mother and grandmother, whose life was centered around her family.

A committal service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, December 10, 2015, in the chapel at Notre Dame Cemetery, 162 Webster St., Worcester. There are no calling hours. Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
