Marieanne L. MacGinnis

AUBURN – Marieanne Louise (Kennette) MacGinnis, 84, of Auburn, passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2026. She was predeceased by her husband of 26 years, John I. MacGinnis who died 2020.

Marieanne is survived by three children, Laurie M. Snelling and her husband Dennis of Woodstock, CT, Kevin D. Basto and his wife Jennifer of Eastford, CT, and Julie M. Comtois of Ocala, FL. She was predeceased by a daughter, Melinda A. King of Eastford, CT, who died in 2026.

She is also survived by nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was born in Southbridge, daughter of the late Theodore and Marion (Gaumond) Kennette.

Marieanne was a wonderful homemaker and mother to her children. She enjoyed many hobbies including canning from our garden, gardening, knitting, and crocheting. She would always invite visitors to view and choose a creation to take home. She also made newborn hats for the Day Kimball Hospital birthing center, cancer dolls for children with cancer, and donated as far away as Africa, putting smiles on the faces of many children.

A private graveside service will be held at Hillside Cemetery in Auburn. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Neighbors Against Cancer, 469 Westcott Road, Danielson, CT 06239-3223.

Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
