Charlton

CHARLTON – Marilyn M. Fulmer, 93, of Charlton MA, peacefully left her body on April 19, 2025, while residing at the Overlook Nursing Home. During her time on earth, she was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, and will be deeply missed by all.

She was born as Marilyn Jean Mehl on July 5, 1931, in Big Rapids MI, to Ernest G. and Lydia Mehl, and was sister to Dickie, Jim, Patricia, David and Tom. Marilyn married Robert D. Fulmer, Jr on March 27, 1954, and remained in devoted relationship for over 70 years! She was beloved mother to sons John, Mike, and Jim, and grandmother to Cody, Jacob, Jeffrey, and Jessica.

Mare was a vivacious, gregarious and independent soul, and a fantastic singer with a deep appreciation of music. She found expression with the Schenectady Civic Players, the Canadian Lakes Players, and with all who were blessed to hear her lovely voice. She loved gardening, flowers, a good party and cooking great meals for her family. She and Bob resided in New York State for a number of years before her deep Michigan roots called her back to live in Canadian Lakes in a house she co-designed. Love of family then brought her to Charlton MA where she developed many new friendships and spent the remainder of her life on earth.

Marilyn had a deep spirituality and love for the Christ in everyone, an appreciation surely received from her parents Barney and Lydie. A conversation with Marilyn could touch upon the eternal, as did her singing. Though she no longer walks the earth, she will remain in the hearts of all those who knew and loved her. Please consider planting some flowers or a tree in her memory, or perhaps supporting a local musician who demonstrates her love of music. And many thanks to the staff at Overlook SNF 3 for their loving care over these last years. May each of us let Marilyn's spirit inspire us to be genuine and heart-felt and recognize these qualities in each other. "When we pray, we sing. When we sing, we pray."
