OXFORD - Marilyn R. (McGee) O'Loughlin, 74, was taken in the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, August 25, 2015, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her son, Steven O'Loughlin and his wife Mary Ellen of Shrewsbury; her daughter, Kathleen Hennessy and her husband Kevin of North Oxford; her grandchildren, Ryan and Erin O'Loughlin of Shrewsbury, and Shannen and Lauren Hennessy of North Oxford; her brother, James McGee and his wife Joyce of Auburn; her niece, Susan McGee of Auburn; and her best friend who she enjoyed very much and was such a big part of her life, Patricia Dee of Oxford. Marilyn was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late James and Marion (Dillon) McGee. She graduated from Worcester Girls Trade High School. She was a stitcher at Worcester Knitting for 34 years, and later retired from the David Clark Company after 15 years. Marilyn loved being with and was so proud of her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed the simple things - family vacations to the beach, singing, dancing, and playing games around the house with her family, being there for many sporting events, dance recitals, listening to her grandchildren sing, and traveling to see the many wonderful landscapes of New England. She loved the holidays when the family would all be together. She was a truly remarkable mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, aunt, and friend - touching the hearts of many. She will be missed by all. The family would like to thank the nursing staff at UMass Hospital 6 West and West 3 at Memorial Hospital, for their compassionate and loving care, and especially Kathie Jennings and Jen Brier who made all the difference, and to the Rose Monahan Hospice Residence. A funeral will be held on Monday, August 31, 2015, from Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 11 a.m. at St. Aloysius/St. Jude Church, 489 Pleasant St., Leicester. Burial will follow at St. Roch's Cemetery in Oxford. Calling hours are Sunday, August 30, 2015, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to UMass Memorial Medical Center, c/o the Cancer Research Fund, P.O. Box 2795, Worcester, MA 01613.
