OXFORD - Marion M. (Evans) Brule, 83, of Wheelock Street, died Saturday, June 27, 2009, at UMass Memorial Medical Center - University Campus, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident on Monday. She was predeceased by her husband of 22 years, Joseph E. Brule of Oxford, who died in 2001; and her former husband, Leonard Glidden Sr. of Auburn, who died in 1990. She is survived by two sons, Leonard Glidden Jr. of Grafton, and Joseph E. Brule Jr. and his wife Maureen of Worcester; four daughters, Patricia M. Hopkins and her husband Terry of Arizona, Madeleine E. Caplette and her husband Brushy of Arkansas, Theresa R. Tontonoz and her husband Mike of South Carolina, and Lisa A. Gevry and her husband Louis of Dudley; a sister, Lucille Lamontagne of Millbury; seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a daughter, Donna M. Yankus of Oxford, who died on June 22, 2009; and two grandchildren. Mrs. Brule was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late George E. and Lena (St. George) Evans, and lived in Worcester before moving to Oxford in 1952. She graduated from Ascension High School in Worcester. Mrs. Brule worked in the cafeteria at Oxford High School for over 15 years, retiring many years ago. She was a member of St. Roch's Church in Oxford and was a member of the church choir. Mrs. Brule was a volunteer at the Oxford Senior Center for over 25 years. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, July 3, 2009, from Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Roch's Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Wednesday, July 1, 2009, from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Covenant House, P.O. Box 731, Times Square Station, New York, NY 10108-0900.
