Marion Houle

OXFORD - Marion G. (Lanciault) Houle, 77, of Wheelock St., died Thursday, October 20, 2011, at Webster Manor Nursing Home in Webster. She was predeceased by her husband of 6 years, Ronald P. Houle who died in 1976. She is survived by five children, Donald A. Houle and his wife Robyn of Stanhope, NJ, Michael R. Houle and his wife Patricia of Florida, Marc R. Houle and his wife Elisa of California, Deborah A. Koenig and her husband Bruce of Holden, and Monique R. Houle and her spouse Paige; a brother, Philip C. Lanciault and his wife Kay of Dudley; eight grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a brother, Donald Lanciault; and two sisters, Marjorie Scioscia and Betty Prunier. She was born in Oxford, the daughter of the late Oney E. and Gladys O. (Farrar) Lanciault, and was a lifelong resident of Oxford. She graduated from Oxford High School in 1951. Mrs. Houle worked at American Optical in Southbridge for 5 years, retiring in 1971. Later, she was a waitress and cook at the Cozy Nook Restaurant in Oxford. She was a lifelong member of the V.F.W. Post 5336 in Oxford and was a member and past president of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary in Oxford. Mrs. Houle was past president of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary District 8. She enjoyed crocheting, cross-stitch, playing bingo, and bowling. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 25, 2011, at Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at North Cemetery, Oxford. Calling hours are Monday, October 24, 2011, from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
