Mark Joy

OXFORD – Mark R. Joy, 53, of Wheelock Street, died peacefully on Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus in Worcester. He is survived by his mother, Judith B. (Brigham) Joy of Oxford; his sister, Robin M. Allen and her husband Patrick of Oxford; his nephews whom he loved, Sean R. Allen and Conor P. Allen, both of Oxford; and his best friend, Lori Thornton of Oxford. He was born in Worcester, son of the late Robert E. Joy, and lived most of his life in Oxford and Florida. He graduated from Bay Path R.V.T. High School in Charlton in 1983.

Mark was a bartender at Shephard’s Tiki Bar in Clearwater Beach, FL, for over 10 years. He was a member of the American Legion in Florida and enjoyed disc golf and bicycling.

Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Oxford Dog Park, P.O. Box 142, North Oxford, MA 01537. Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
