Mark Turgeon

September 22, 1957 — July 28, 2007

WEBSTER – Mark C. Turgeon, 49, of Camile Road, and formerly of Smithfield, RI, died Saturday, July 28, 2007, at UMass Memorial Healthcare in Worcester, after a long and courageous battle with Muscular Dystrophy. Mark leaves his wife of 17 years, Kathleen B. (Donovan) Turgeon of Webster; his father, Alfred Turgeon of Smithfield, RI; his brother, Allen Turgeon of Smithfield, RI; and several brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, David Turgeon of North Kingston, RI; and a sister, Linda Procaccini of Johnston, RI. He was born in Central Falls, RI, the son of the late Arline (Dufault) Turgeon, and was raised in Pawtucket and Smithfield, RI. He moved to Webster in 1995. Mark graduated from Davies Vocational Technical School in 1976. Mark was a manager at Central Tools, Inc., in Cranston, RI for four years, retiring in 1991 due to illness. Previously, he worked for American Specialty Equipment in Auburn and NEPTCO, Inc. in Pawtucket, RI. He was also self-employed in the business of buying, selling, and delivering baked goods to supermarkets, hospitals, and private institutions. Mark was an avid sports fan and enjoyed boating, bowling, and playing cards with his friends and family. He was an inspiration to all who knew him. A funeral will be held at 9 a.m. on Thursday, August 2, 2007, from Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Louis Church, 15 Lake St., Webster. Burial will follow at St. Roch's Cemetery, Oxford. Calling hours are Wednesday, August 1, 2007, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Flowers are welcome or memorial contributions may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, 33 Lyman St., Westborough, MA 01581, or to the St. Louis Church Endowment Fund, 15 Lake St., Webster, MA 01570.
