WEBSTER – Martha Belle (Hanson) Canterbury, 73, of Hillside Avenue, died on Tuesday, May 19, 2020, at UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus in Worcester. She was predeceased by her husband, Mont Richardson Canterbury Sr. who died in 1975; and her brother Alfred Moody. She is survived by her daughter, Corinda A. Robinson and her fiancé Walter Scott of Florida; her son, Mont Richardson Canterbury Jr. and his wife Dawn of Webster; her brother, Clark Hanson of Asbury, WV; two grandchildren, Mikaela Elizabeth Canterbury of Webster and Shane Robinson of Southbridge; her great-grandson, Julien Michael Jones of Webster; several nieces and nephews, including but not limited to Ruth Anne Hanson and her partner Andrew Brooks of Lewisburg, WV, Clark “Luther” Hanson and his wife Laurie of New Market, TN, and Teresa Adkins and her husband Anthony and their children of Hinton, WV; beloved family and friends including special family members Jean and John Moody of Webster with whom she lived, and Wade and Miss Betty Robinson of Worcester. She was born in Asbury, WV, daughter of the late Harve Luther and Nellie Gray (Moody) Hanson, and lived in Asbury, WV, before moving to Webster in 1978.
Mrs. Canterbury worked at Stevens Linen in Dudley for over 10 years. She loved gardening, flowers, coffee, cigarettes, and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandson.
Private services will be held at a later date. Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
