Mary Connor

OXFORD – Mary K. (Nordigian) Connor, 91, died Sunday, August 27, 2017, at the home of her daughter in Charlton. She is survived by her daughter, Mary K. Burlingame and her husband Jeffrey of Charlton; two grandsons, Sean Burlingame of Houston, TX, and Kevin Burlingame and his wife Rebecca of Charlton; and a great-granddaughter who always made her smile, Alexandria Burlingame. She was predeceased by two sisters, Gladys Nordigian and Beatrice Nordigian. She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Bedros and Ovsanna (DerVartanian) Nordigian, and lived in Rochdale before moving to Oxford 67 years ago. She graduated from Leicester High School and attended the Elizabeth Ollis Hairdressing Academy. Later, she attended the Workforce Re-Training Accounting Academy.

Ms. Connor was the accounts payable manager at The Fair in Worcester for many years. Previously, she was a hairdresser and worked at MKM Knitting Mills in Rochdale. In her retirement, she helped with sales at Northside Farm in Charlton until 2015.

Ms. Connor was a member of the Armenian Church of Our Saviour in Worcester. She enjoyed Tea and Talk with the Oxford seniors and participated in the senior knitting group, where she knitted for Harrington Hospital Center Center and the Homeless Veteran’s Shelter. She was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan, loved to shop for a bargain, looked forward to going out to eat with friends, and enjoyed the company of her longtime friends, Jake Menzigian and Josephine Gauthier.

A funeral will be held on Wednesday, August 30, 2017, with a procession from Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 11 a.m. the Armenian Church of Our Saviour, 87 Salisbury St., Worcester. Burial will follow at Hope Cemetery in Worcester. Calling hours are Tuesday, August 29, 2017, from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
