Michael Gilbert, Sr.

WEBSTER – Michael Armand Gilbert Sr., 61, of George Street, died Saturday, November 24, 2007, at home after a battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Patricia A. (Gelineau) Gilbert of Webster; three children, Michelle Chapman of Lake Park, FL, Roland G. Gilbert of Dudley, and Michael A. Gilbert Jr. of Shrewsbury; his mother, Pauline (LeDuc) Thyne of Lowell; a brother, Donald Gilbert of Fayetteville, NC; a sister, Jean Pastor of Pelham, NH; three grandchildren, Jonathan Wikse and Mikayla Chapman, both of Lake Park, Florida, and Ethan Gavin Gilbert of Dudley; and many nephews and nieces. He was born in Lowell, the son of the late Romeo Gilbert, and lived in Lowell for many years and North Oxford for 19 years, before moving to Webster in 1999. Mr. Gilbert was a group leader at H.B. Fuller Company in Marlboro for 25 years, retiring in 1997. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War and was an avid golfer. A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 27, 2007, at St. Ann's Church, 652 Main St., North Oxford. Burial will be private. Calling hours are Tuesday, November 27, 2007, from 9:00 – 10:15 a.m., at Paradis Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, prior to the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VNA of Southern Worcester County, P.O. Box 368, 534 School St., Webster, MA 01570.
