Michael Smith

OXFORD – Michael Joseph Smith, 29, of Old Worcester Road, died unexpectedly on Monday, June 11, 2018, in his home. He is survived by his mother, Roberta “Robin” A. (Sullivan) Arena of Oxford; two brothers, Carl E. Arena Jr. of Oxford and Christopher M. Arena of Southbridge; his niece, Madison Arena of Northbridge; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was born in Framingham, son of the late Stanley J. Smith, and lived in Marlboro and Northbridge before moving to Oxford 13 years ago. He graduated from Oxford High School in 2007.

Michael enjoyed racing at Thompson Speedway. He loved working on cars and was skilled at anything mechanical. He enjoyed fishing, caring for his yard, spending time outdoors, and was always willing to help his friends and neighbors.

Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Family Services of Central Massachusetts, 31 Harvard St., Worcester, MA 01609. Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
