WEBSTER / AUBURN - Our wonderful and much beloved mother, Mildred J. (Tymula) Merrill, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 25, 2015. She is survived by her daughter, Joan (Merrill) Bouley of Oxford; her son, Steven G. Merrill and his wife Diane of Sierra Vista, AZ; her grandchildren, Christopher Bouley and his wife Beth of Oxford, Lia Karpicki and her husband Ed of Bantam, CT, David Bouley of Oxford, and DeAnne Merrill of Cheshire, CT; four great grandchildren whom she adored; and several nieces and nephews. She was born in Stamford, CT, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Tymula. Mildred was predeceased by her husband, George N. Merrill; three sisters, Helen, Esther, and Jean; and son-in-law, Arthur Bouley. Mildred served in the U.S. Army Nurses Corps during World War II. She was very active in her Canton, CT, community serving as a member of the Women's Auxiliary of the Canton Fire Company, the VNA, where she served on the Board for 14 years, was Membership Chairwoman of the Canton Seniors for "years", as well as serving on several other committees. She was also a member of the Connecticut State Retirement Council. After moving to Auburn, Mildred continued to be active at The Lodge at Eddy Pond, serving as secretary of the Residents Council. A private graveside service will be held in Collinsville, CT, at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Canton VNA, 75 Great Pond Rd., Simsbury, CT 06070. Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
