ARLINGTON – Natalie M. (Tufts) MacLean, 89, died Sunday, January 15, 2023, at the Life Care Center of Auburn. She was predeceased by her husband, Norman E. MacLean who died in 1984. She is survived by four children, Debra L. Martin and her husband Ronald of Charlton, David W. Small and his wife Crisanta of Oceanside, CA, James M. MacLean and his wife Mischel of Hyde Park, and Timothy M. MacLean and his wife Deborah of Seaford, VA; ten grandchildren, Joshua and his wife Julie, Amanda and her husband John, Rebecca, Nicholas and his wife Bia, Richard, Ryan, Rhowen, Gary, Dianna, and Cristy and her husband Daniel; nine great-grandchildren, Avery, Isaiah and his wife Carrin, Austin, Arionna, Vivian, Samuel, Liam, Idalyz, and Esai. She was predeceased by a son, Richard L Small who died in 2021; and a brother, Anthony Tufts. She was born in Boston, daughter of the late Frederick and Vivian (McCabe) Tufts, and lived in Arlington for 35 years before moving to Tewksbury 20 years ago. She graduated from Arlington High School in 1951.
Mrs. MacLean worked at the Harvard Coop Bookstore in Cambridge for 20 years, retiring in 2003. She was an active member of the Tewksbury Senior Center, where she volunteered for 15 years. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, her cats, and especially spending time with her family.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 20, 2023, at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Arlington. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 309 Waverly Oaks Rd., Waltham, MA 02452.
