OXFORD – Nelson J. DeJesus, 86, of Fort Hill Road, died Thursday, June 29, 2023, in his home after a long battle with cancer.  He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Elsa R. (Moscoffian) DeJesus of Oxford; four children, Robert J. DeJesus and his wife Glenna of Oxford, Lisa M. Mason and her husband Robert of North Grosvenordale, Michael J. DeJesus and his wife Kristie of Charlton, and Kevin P. DeJesus and his wife Wendy of Charlton; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, and nieces; and many friends.  He was predeceased by a grandson, Robert J. DeJesus Jr.; two sisters, Margaret Siegfried and Mary Beaudry; and two brothers, Paul DeJesus Sr. and Manuel DeJesus.  He was born in Oxford, son of the late Manuel and Mary (Albuquerque) DeJesus, and was a lifelong resident of Oxford.

Mr. DeJesus worked at American Polymers in Oxford for 44 years, retiring in 1999.  He enjoyed playing cards, snowmobiling, playing the lottery, country music, and the many dogs he had over the years.  He will be remembered as a family man who put his family above all else.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 6, 2023, at St. Roch’s Cemetery, Federal Hill Rd., Oxford.  There are no calling hours.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741.  Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
