OXFORD – Nikolaos Darlagiannis, 76, passed away peacefully at home after a courageous battle with kidney cancer. A devoted husband, father, Pappou, and friend, he leaves behind a loving family who will forever hold dear his warmth, wisdom, and unwavering spirit.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Athanasia “Sissi” Darlagiannis; his daughter, Anna Darlagiannis-Livingstone, and her husband, Garin; his son, Athanasios Darlagiannis, and his wife, Sara; and his two adored granddaughters, Ava and Grace Darlagiannis.
Born in Greece, Nikolaos carried the soul of his homeland with him wherever life took him. His heart was never far from the olive groves and sunlit shores of his youth. He found his greatest joy in returning to Greece—reconnecting with his roots, reliving cherished memories, and sharing stories steeped in tradition, pride, and enduring love for his culture.
In Oxford, Massachusetts, Nikolaos built a life grounded in hard work, hospitality, and deep community connection. He was best known for his beloved coffee shop, N&J Donuts, which he owned with his brother John. More than a business, it was his second home—a gathering place where friendships were forged over coffee, conversation, and the comfort of a fresh pastry.
Known to many simply as Nick, he embodied quiet strength and heartfelt generosity. Whether offering a kind word, a perfectly timed joke, or a warm coffee on a cold morning, he had a gift for lifting spirits. His presence was gentle yet unforgettable, and his legacy lives on in the lives he touched—through his devoted family, his cherished friendships, and the countless smiles he sparked from behind the counter at N&J. He also found simple pleasures in life—especially his beloved family vacations, the thrills of a winning scratch ticket, and the treasured time spent with his granddaughters, whose laughter and company brought him immeasurable happiness.
Nick will be deeply missed, but his spirit endures - in every story shared, every memory held, and every act of kindness inspired by his example.
