OXFORD – Patrick J. Hester, III, 73, of Tower Hill Road, died Monday, January 5, 2026, at UMass Memorial Health Harrington Hospital – Webster Campus, after a long battle with COPD.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Linda L. (Brady) Hester of Oxford; and two sons, Matthew R. Hester and his wife Dominique of Pahrump, NV, and Michael P. Hester and his wife Rebecca of Oxford. He was predeceased by two brothers, Robert Hester and Thomas Hester.
He was born in Worcester, son of the late Patrick J. and Cecilia (Sullivan) Hester Jr., and lived in Worcester before moving to Oxford in 1998. He graduated from St. John’s High School in 1970, and later received his bachelor’s degree from W.P.I. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War.
Mr. Hester worked in mechanical engineering throughout his life before recently retiring. He was a longtime member of Singletary Rod and Gun Club in Oxford. He enjoyed spending time at the beach, working in his yard, and fishing, especially at the Cape Cod Canal.
Services will be held privately at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford. Burial with military honors will be held privately at North Cemetery in Oxford.
