Mr. Guertin worked as a composer at the Worcester Telegram & Gazette for 34 years until his retirement in 2000.  Mr. Guertin’s love and deep dedication to Oxford found his calling by serving on many committees and volunteering with Emergency Medical Services. He was a part-time special police officer for the Oxford Police Department, and instrumental in starting the police cadette program, a part-time EMT, and EMT instructor. He enjoyed teaching providing care to those in need. For many years he was involved with the Oxford Boy Scout Troop 120, and he was a mentor and leader for many.

Phil and his wife Nancy (Fields) of Knoxville, TN; and Doug and his wife Mary (Misiaszek) of Monson, MA; and a daughter Heidi (Guertin) Correira of Holden, MA, who he made his home with, 6 step children; Ronald W. Jr., Steven K., Michael J., James F., Kenneth M., and Randy; six grandchildren he dearly loved and their spouses: Stephanie and her husband Jon, Stephen and his wife Anna, Nicholas, Joshua, Benjamin, and Jacob.

He attended St Roch’s Church his entire life and was devout in his faith, he was a third-degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Anyone who knew Paul knew family and faith were the most important elements in his life.

He will be greatly missed by family, friends, and by the many lives he touched.
