Paul Hast

OXFORD – Paul A. Hast, 64, of Foster Street, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 19, 2018, at UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus in Worcester, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Lynn K. (Evans) Hast of Oxford; two sons, Derek P. Hast and his wife Jessica of Charlton, and Keith A. Hast of Leominster; three grandchildren, Bridget, Annie, and Adam Hast; a longtime family friend, Sara Marchand; and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his brother George; and sisters Mary and Audrey. He was born in Worcester, son of the late Albin and Myrtle Helen (Johnson) Hast, and lived most of his life in Oxford. He graduated from Oxford High School.

Mr. Hast worked in the trucking industry for over 30 years as a dispatcher and professional truck driver. He worked for Jeffco Fibers, Astrofoam, Tuscarora, and Tegrant. He loved entertaining, being around people, and was known by his family and friends as Santa and the “Mayor of Foster Street.” He was a true family man and loved nothing more than spending time with his family.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 26, 2018, at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at North Cemetery in Oxford. Calling hours are Thursday, January 25, 2018, from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Roch’s Church, 334 Main St., Oxford, MA 01540.
