WEBSTER – Paul Francis O’Brien, 77, of Elaine Street, passed away after a long illness, on Wednesday, February 4, 2026.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Donna S. (Randazzo) O’Brien of Webster; two children, Frank O’Brien and his wife Michele of Thompson and Lisa Livsey and her husband Michael of Webster; four grandsons, Robert Livsey and Matthew Livsey, both of Webster; James O’Brien of Spencer, and Daniel O’Brien and his wife Rebekah of Charlton; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Rosemary Sweeney; and two brothers, Charles O’Brien and Michael O’Brien.
He was born in Beverly, son of the late Charles B. and Catherine (DeCoff) O’Brien, and lived in Oxford for many years before moving to Webster 33 years ago. He worked at Rand Whitney as a truck driver for many years, retiring in 2002.
A proud and patriotic man, Paul loved his country deeply. He served honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was awarded the Bronze Star for his bravery and dedication. In his younger years he was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, the VFW, and the American Legion.
Paul was known for his quick wit and wonderful sense of humor. He always had a one-liner ready and his family never knew what he would say next, but they knew it would make them laugh. His humor and warm personality left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Above all, his family was his greatest pride and joy. He was a devoted husband who deeply loved his wife Donna. A loving Dad to Frank and Lisa whom he treasured, and he welcomed his son and daughter-in-law Mike and Michele into his heart as his own. He was especially proud of the fine men his four grandsons, J.P., Danny, Robbie, and Matt had become, always taking pride in the bright futures they were building.
He found his greatest peace and enjoyment in the simple pleasures of life - spending days fishing on his boat, golfing, and admiring classic cars. He also shared a special bond with his beloved dog, Georgia, whom he loved dearly. Their daily walks together were one of his favorite routines, and she was always faithfully by his side.
He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
Services will be held privately. Burial will be private with military funeral honors at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Dog Orphans, Inc., P.O. Box 767, Douglas, MA 01516.
Paradis-Givner Funeral Home in Oxford is directing the arrangements.
