OXFORD – Paul F. Pytko, 59, of Vernon Street, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 22, 2025, in his home with his beloved family and pets by his side. He is survived by his wife, Suzanne M. White-Pytko; sister, Sarah J. Pytko of Oxford; two sons, Petty Officer 1st Cl. Stephen F. Pytko of Narragansett, RI, and Nathan G. Pytko, his wife Katrina, and their children Eve and Dean Pytko, all of Oxford. He was predeceased by a son, Austin Pytko, who passed in 1997.
He leaves behind his in-laws, the Whites and their families; his stepdaughter, Andrea Berthiaume and her family, having a special relationship with her son Brenden Blair; his uncle, Col. A. Russell Pytko of Oxford, along with many cousins and close friends he considered family.
He was born in Worcester, son of the late Paul P. and Judith F. Pytko and was a lifelong resident of Oxford. He attended Quinsigamond Community College in Worcester and received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude.
Mr. Pytko was the operations manager at Stephen & Gregory Realty, Inc. for 20 years, working alongside his two sons Stephen and Nathan before retiring. Previously he worked at Brican, Inc. in Springfield, and owned and operated Pytko Construction Corporation with his father in Rhode Island, where he completed many public sector sitework jobs throughout Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Before working with his father, he worked at Forte Brothers in Rhode Island and worked at Entwistle’s Garage in Worcester in his younger years. He was a skilled civil engineer and gained much of his knowledge from his father. He had a great respect for civil engineering and appreciated bridges, dams, and infrastructure wherever he went.
Paul was a dedicated member of the Oxford United Methodist Church. His lifelong love of stock car racing led Paul to become the proud owner of the number 24 Open-wheel Modifieds at Thompson Speedway, piloted by his son Nathan. One of his greatest achievements was reaching victory lane alongside his family and friends. He was a proud motorcycle enthusiast. He enjoyed snowmobiling, following politics, a good, heated debate, and history, especially the history of Oxford. He had a vast knowledge of motors and anything mechanical, and he loved to find ways to enhance the performance of anything he worked on.
Paul loved people. He loved to talk to, laugh with, and connect with people. If he met you as a stranger, he left you with a story and a smile.
A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, May 30, 2025, at the Oxford United Methodist Church, 465 Main St., Oxford. Burial will be private at a later date at North Cemetery in Oxford. Calling hours are Thursday, May 29, 2025, from 4-8 p.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Oxford United Methodist Church, 465 Main St., Oxford, MA 01540.
