SOUTHBRIDGE – Paul A. Temple, 88, died on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, after a sudden illness shortly after entering hospice care at the Overlook in Charlton.

He was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Patricia A. (Czap) Temple of Southbridge, who died on May 3, 2025. He is survived by his granddaughter, not by birthright but by choice, Wendi R. Bernal and her husband Edgardo of Oxford; several nieces and nephews; and an extended family on Patricia’s side, whom he loved very much. He was also predeceased by one brother and two sisters.

He was born in Marlborough, son of the late Frank and Viola (Courtemanche) Temple, and lived most of his life in Southbridge.

Mr. Temple worked at Prime Computer in Natick prior to retirement. Previously, he worked at Keefe Regional Technical School in Framingham. During retirement, he was a key furniture builder and refurbisher for Old Sturbridge Village and the Publick House in Sturbridge.

He was a member of the Quinebaug Valley Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses for many years. He loved nature and hiking in the woods of New Hampshire and Vermont. In his younger years Paul loved traveling and had many adventures. He traveled cross-country with his wife and family members Sally and Lee in a converted school bus. One of his favorite trips including going to Hawaii for a Jehovah’s Witness convention.

Services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jehovah’s Witnesses at donate.jw.org.
