WORCESTER – Pauline J. (Savage) Puishys, 86, formerly of Baltic Road, died peacefully on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus in Worcester, surrounded by her family.
She was predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Robert E. Puishys Sr., who died in 2012. She is survived by three children, Donna M. Connor of Worcester, Robert E. Puishys Jr. and his wife Deborah of Oxford, and Ellen M. Serafin and her husband Paul of Worcester; five grandchildren, Nikole Shooshan and her husband Ryan of Jefferson, Kimberly Connor and her fiancé Jordan Smith of Weymouth, Dr. Robert Puishys III and his wife Lauren of Northborough, Lauren Puishys and her fiancé James Register of Winter Garden, FL, and Erin Serafin of Worcester; four great-grandchildren, Connor, Claire, Tucker, and Bennett; her brother, Dr. Robert F. Savage and his wife Suzanne of Northborough; and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by a brother, Joseph P. Savage.
She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Joseph P. and Nellie R. (Taparauskas) Savage, and lived most of her life in Worcester. She graduated from Commerce High School in 1957.
Mrs. Puishys worked as a secretary for Norton Company in Worcester many years ago. Later she worked with her brother Joseph at Vernon Drug in Worcester, then worked at Tatnuck Square Pharmacy before retiring. Most of her life, she was a homemaker who lovingly cared for her home and family.
She was a former member of Our Lady of Vilna Church, and currently a member of Sacred Heart-St. Catherine of Sweden Church in Worcester. She was also a member of the Ladies Guild and volunteered for Bingo at the church. In her younger years, she was a Campfire Girls leader, and her hobbies included swimming, crafts, traveling, and spending winters at her home in Florida.
A funeral will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2025, from Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford, followed by a Mass at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart-St. Catherine of Sweden Church, 600 Cambridge St., Worcester. Burial will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery in Worcester. Calling hours are Monday, June 2, 2025, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sisters of St. Casimir, 2601 West Marquette Rd., Chicago, IL 60629.
